It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This handsome limestone vernacular house was built in 1858 by Peter Kehl, who established the Kehl Winery at the site. Massive segmental arched lintles appear above transomed windows, and dentil trim lines the eaves. One of earliest Wisconsin wineries, built in 1859 of large limestone blocks and rubble.
