This handsome limestone vernacular house was built in 1858 by Peter Kehl, who established the Kehl Winery at the site. Massive segmental arched lintles appear above transomed windows, and dentil trim lines the eaves.

One of earliest Wisconsin wineries, built in 1859 of large limestone blocks and rubble.

See R # 12506, 12507 for the winery and the wine cellar.
