NOTES
Additional Information:This simply detailed, former church building is in a Lombardic Revival style with exterior walls of rock-faced local limestone set as uncoursed ashlar with beaded mortar joints. Only one other example of this coursing of local limestone exists in the city (49 S. Madison). Semicircular arches span the large major window openings while segmental arches span doorways and smaller windows. A square tower capped by a pyramidal roof with flared eaves complements the massing of this "Country" style church and reflects the simple intersecting gables of the nave and trancepts. This building is of some architectural interest as both an example of a common church building style of the period, executed in an appropriate local material, and as an adaptive use since being converted into apartments. This church was organized in 1863 and had its first church built in 1868. Church has garage addition and downsized windows (2000).
