Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Resurveyed October 2012; subsequent changes include the application of vinyl siding and new windows to the eastern addition. This 1-story, astylistic utilitarian blacksmith shop was constructed c.1861. It is T-shaped in plan with fieldstone walls and an asphalt-shingled side-gable roof. The front elevation faces north and is asymmetrical in plan with a central overhead garage door flanked by two 6-over-6 windows on each side. A single doorway is located on the north side of the garage door. A historic hipped-roof addition projects from the building’s east elevation; this addition was recently (post-2012) clad in vinyl siding and contains new multi-pane windows along its east elevation. |
