Additional Information: | THIS ONE STORY RESIDENCE IS DESIGNED WITH A RECTANGULAR PLAN CONFIGURATION, AN ASBESTOS SHINGLED EXTERIOR AND A GABLE ROOF. THE C. 1840 DWELLING HAS HAD SUBSEQUENT ADDITIONS, THE MOST NOTABLE OF WHICH IS THE EXTENSION TO THE REAR. (SEE BIB. REF. A). THE HOUSE IS CONSIDERED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. ALSO LOCATED ON THE PROPERTY IS A GARAGE; NO INTENSIVE SURVEY DESCRIBES THIS BUILDING. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: A SMALL MINER'S COTTAGE NOT FAR FROM WHERE COLONEL HENRY DODGE IS BELIEVED TO HAVE BUILT HIS FIRST DWELLING AND HIS FURNACE (SEE C. 215 E. FOUNTAIN STREET, 50/25). |
