Additional Information: | RANDOM ASHLAR SANDSTONE IS THE MATERIAL USED IN THIS CHURCH, WHICH HAS ROUNDED ARCH WINDOWS, CORNICE RETURNS, AND A FRAME CUPOLA. BEGUN IN 1879, THE CHURCH WAS ONLY FINISHED IN 1879 AFTER SUFFICIENT FUNDS WERE SECURED. THE NARTHEX WAS ADDED MUCH LATER, IN 1968. LEGEND SAYS THE CHURCH WAS BUILT BY A NORWEGIAN MASON. |
