Additional Information:THIS SIMPLE, FRAME HOUSE (BUILT 1843) WITH A FULL-LENGTH FRONT PORCH WAS PERHAPS THE EARLIEST FRAME HOUSE IN THE COUNTY. FOR A TIME, IT SERVED AS A STAGE COACH STOP. A FRAME BARN (BUILT 1852) IS ALSO LOCATED ON THE PROPERTY. WITH A FOUNDATION OF HUGE SANDSTONE BLOCKS, IT WAS CALLED "THE LARGEST COTTONPICKIN' BARN IN THE WHOLE WIDE STATE!" WHEN IT WAS BUILT.
