| Additional Information: | This 2 story residence has clapboard exterior fabric. The roof is a hip roof with gables, with shingled returns. The style is Queen/Princess Anne. There are rear additions. Window frames are wood with an entablature head. There is a box cornice, endboards and plain frieze under the eave. The gable has sunburst pattern and diagonal pattern woodwork. There is a simple pedimented dormer in front. THe full front porch has a hip roof with pedimented gable. There are turned wood columns, pendants and scroll work under the porch eaves. There are brackets and a railing on the porch. A queen Anne front 2st story window has new glass. Most of the integirty of this building is intact and it is a very good example of this style of detailing in New Richmond. This type of house is often found in other localities so its significance architecturally is questionable (see SC 26-35 for a similar house). |
