Additional Information: | 2. The photo is dated pre-cyclone but small trees and no landscaping as well as house style suggest post cyclone. The storm leveled this area. The lumber company in the background burned down in 1913. The house was built then between 1900-1913. 3. This 1 1/2 story homestead residence has Colonial revival details and aluminum siding exterior fabric. The plan is a half Bascillica one. The gabled roof has returns. There is a box cornice and shingled rear addition. The wrap around porch has been enclosed and has a hip roof. The front porch addition and siding detract from the integrity of this house. There are better examples of this common style and this one has no architectural significance. 4. A photo shows an open porch with a lower porch roof. There was a window on the south side over the porch, that is not there. The side 1st story window is the same but the 2nd story one is now different. Details cannot be seen in the photo. |
