Additional Information: FRONT GABLED IN FORM AND RECTANGULAR IN PLAN, THIS TWO STORY WAREHOUSE FEATURES A CUT STONE FOUNDATION, A GABLE ROOF AND AN ASPHALT SHINGLE EXTERIOR. CONSTRUCTED IN C. 1890, THIS BUILDING IS CONSIDERED TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. (SEE BIB. REF. B) HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: THIS LARGE STRUCTURE, LOCATED IN POTOSI'S RAILROAD DISTIRCT, IS OUTLINED IN THE 1895 GRANT COUNTY PLAT BOOK AND, ALTHOUGH NO FUNCTION IS INDICATED, IT IS ASSUMED THAT IT WAS BUILT AS A WAREHOUSE FOR RAILROAD FREIGHT. (SEE BIB. REF. A). THE DEPOT FOR THE CHICAGO, BURLINGTON & QUINCY RAILROAD FORMERLY STOOD JUST WEST OF THIS STRUCTURE. IT WAS DEMOLISHED IN 1976.
