Additional Information: | THIS MOULDED CEMENT BLOCK HOUSE FEATURES A TRUNCATED HIP ROOF THAT IS INTERSECTED BY A PEDIMENTED GABLE ROOF; THIS GABLE ROOF, IN TURN, EXTENDS OVER A THREE-SIDED BAY. PALLADIAN WINDOWS AND DECORATIVE SHINGLES APPEAR IN THE OPEN GALBE END. THE FULL-LENGTH FRONT PORCH HAS SQUARE POSTS ON MASONRY BASES AND FILLED IN RAILINGS. ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: THIS HOUSE IS SIMILAR IN DESIGN TO GT 29-33. IT IS ONE OF FIVE HOUSES CONSTRUCTED OF MOULDED CEMENT BLOCK AFTER THE TURN OF THE CENTURY IN PLATTEVILLE. |
