Additional Information:A MASSIVE QUEEN ANNE RESIDENCE DISTINGUISHED BY A RECESSED PORCH, SEVERAL BAY WINDOWS, AND A GABLED ENTRANCE PORCH. IT ALSO HAS A TOWER CAPPED BY A PYRAMIDAL ROOF. OTHER ARCHITECURAL FEATURES OF THIS HOUSE INCLUDE AN IRREGULAR PLAN CONFIGURATION, TWO AND ONE HALF STORIES, AN IRREGULAR ROOF SHAPE, ALUMINUM WINDOWS, A CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR AND A WOOD SHINGLE TRIM. THE CORNER PORCH IS ENCLOSED. THE FUNERAL HOME, BUILT CIRCA 1893, WAS FOUND TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. (A)

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:

WILLIAM ZIEGLER WAS A PARTNER IN HIS FATHER'S HARDWARE BUSINESS, WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED IN LANCASTER IN 1850. (C). THE STORE WAS LOCATED AT 126 S. MADISON STREET, 42/22.
