Additional Information: AN ITALIANATE RESIDENCE WHICH UNFORTUNATELY, HAS UNDERGONE A NUMBER OF MODIFICATIONS. SEVERAL ADDITIONS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE ORIGINAL RECTANGULAR PLAN. THIS TWO STORY HOUSE HAS A HIPPED ROOF WITH A DECK, BRACKETED EAVES, SEGMENTAL ARCH OPENINGS, ALUMINUM WINDOWS, AND A BRICK EXTERIOR. VERTICAL BOARDS COVER THE ADDITIONS. THIS CIRCA 1882 RESIDENCE APPEARS TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. (A). IT WAS BUILT BY HENRY MUESSE. (A)

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:

JAMES A. JONES, A DRUGGIST BY TRADE, OPENED HIS BUISINESS IN LANCASTER IN 1866. IN JULY OF 1882, HE WAS JOINED BY A PARTNER, FRED W. BRYAN OF CHICAGO. (C). ACCORDING TO THE TAX RECORDS, JONES OWNED THE ENTIRE BLOCK ON WHICH HIS HOME WAS BUILT. (B)
