A RECTANGULAR PLAN CONFIGURATION, A FLAT ROOF, AND A BRICK EXTERIOR ARE OTHER FEATURES OF THIS TWO STORY RETAIL BUILDING. THIS STRUCTURE WAS FOUND TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. ITS HISTORIC COMMERCIAL USES WERE AS FOLLOWS: 134 E. MAPLE WAS THE HOME OF A BOOKSTORE IN C. 1878 (C); A RESTAURANT FROM C. 1894 TO C. 1905; AND A BAKERY IN C. 1912. (B) HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: THIS BRICK STRUCTURE HAS HOUSED A VAREITY OF COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISES. IN AN 1878 PHOTOGRAPH, A BOOKSTORE OCCUPIED 134 E. MAPLE STREET.
