THE ONE AND A HALF STORY HOUSE HAS AN L-PLAN SHAPE, A GABLE ROOF AND ALUMINUM/VINYL SIDING. THE BUILDING'S CONDITION IS EXCELLENT. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: THE ANTHONY CROSBY RESIDENCE, CONSTRUCTED IN 1844 AND ORIGINALLY LOCATED ON WEST CHERRY STREET, WAS USED FOR RELIGIOUS PURPOSES BY THE CATHOLICS OF LANCASTER BEFORE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THEIR CHRUCH (ST. CLEMENT'S) IN 1859. (A) FOR MORE INFORMATION REGARDING ST. CLEMENT'S, SEE THE FINAL REPORT. THIS HOUSE WAS MOVED TO ITS PRESENT SITE BETWEEN 1899 AND 1905. |
