Additional Information:A LATE ITALIANATE DWELLING IDENTIFIED BY EAVE-LINE BRACKETS, A TWO STORY BAY WINDOW (ON THE EAST) AND PEAKED WINDOW MOLDINGS. The sleeping porches were added in 1905. THERE IS A WEST SIDE ADDITION. THE TWO STORY HOUSE HAS AN IRREGULAR PLAN CONFIGURATION AND A HIPPED ROOF WITH A DECK. THE BUILDING WAS FOUND TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. The attached garage was constructed in 1980.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
STEPHEN H. TAYLOR, BORN IN HAZEL GREEN, WISCONSIN, WAS AN ATTORNEY IN LANCASTER FOR FIFTY-FOUR YEARS. DURING MOST OF THAT TIME, HE SERVED AS DIVORCE COUNSEL FOR GRANT COUNTY. (A). THE TAYLOR HOUSE IS PICTURED IN LANCASTER'S SOUVENIR. (B).
