THE FARRAR RESIDENCE IS DISTINGUISHED BY A BROAD ENTABLATURE, RETURNED EAVES, STONE SILLS, THE ORIGINAL SIX-OVER-SIX LIGHTS, AND A MAIN ENTRANCE ACCENTED BY A TRANSOM LIGHT AND SIDELIGHTS. TWO HALF MOON WINDOWS IN THE GABLE END ARE ALSO FEATURED. THE CONFIGURATION OF THE HOUSE IS AN L-PLAN WITH ADDITIONS. THE SURVEY REPORT LISTS THE BUILDING TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE SURVEY EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR THE STRUCTURE IS ARCHITECTURE\ ENGINEERING. ARCHTECTURAL STATEMENT: CONSTRUCTED JUST AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, THE E. B. FARRAR HOUSE IS AN EXCELLENT LOCAL EXPRESSION OF THE GREEK REVIVAL STYLE. THE WELL-MAINTAINED BRICK RESIDENCE INCORPORATES THE BOLD FORM AND DETAILS OF THE NATIONAL STYLE INTO A REFINED BUT VERNACULAR DESIGN WHICH, IN LANCASTER, IS UNSURPASSED. HISTORICAL STATEMENT: E. B. FARRAR OWNED THIS PROPERTY FROM 1866 TO 1880 AT WHICH TIME E. B. BRIGHAM TOOK POSSESSION. MRS. W. F. CHANDLER WAS OWNER IN 1890 AND FIVE YEARS LATER THE HOME WAS USED AS THE PARSONAGE FOR THE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH. (A). THE CITY DIRECTORY OF 1898 LISTED THE CHURCH'S MINISTER, REVEREND T. J.
