Additional Information:ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: THE TWO STORY VENEERED STRUCTURE OF LOCAL BRICK (B) HAS A SLOPING ROOF TO THE SOUTH, AND A FLAT ROOF SECTION RUNNING THE LENGTH OF THE BUILDING TO THE NORTH. BRICK SEGMENTED ARCHED WINDOWS AND STONE SILLS ACCENT THE FACADE. THE STORE FRONT HAS BEEN ALTERED IN RECENT TIMES. THIS STRUCTURE IS IMPORTANT AS THE EARLIEST INTACT EXAMPLE OF BRICK COMMERICAL ARCHITECTURE ON THE MAIN STREET OF CUBA CITY. HISTORICAL STATEMENT: THIS COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE IS HISTORICALLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE COMMERICAL DEVELOPMENT OF CUBA CITY. BUILT IN 1894, R. B. LUCKEY STARTED A GENERAL MERCHANDISE STORE AND BARBER SHOP HERE. IT WAS CALLED "R. B. LUCKEY'S CASH STORE." LATELY THE BUILDING HAS BEEN USED FOR VERN'S SHOE STORE.
