NOTES
Additional Information:TWO-STORY FRAME HOUSE WITH T-PLAN. PORCH WITH TURNED POSTS AND SPINDLE WORK EXTENDS ACROSS SIDE WING. ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: 'BONNIE VIEW' WAS CONSTRUCTED FOR MATT PITTMAN AND REMAINED IN THE PITTMAN FAMILY UNTIL 1967. THE DESIGN IS A N AMALGAMATION OF A NUMBER OF STYLES AND PERIODS, HOWEVER, MAP RESEARCH AND THE BASIC PLAN (WHICH CLOSELY RESEMBLES HTE W.W. FIELDS HOUSE AT 505 PARK, GT 18/3) SUGGEST THIS RESIDENCE WAS CONSTRUCTED PRIOR TO 1868-69. BONNIE VIEW IS A T-SHAPE IN PLAN, EACH WING RISING TWO STORIES. THE GABLE ENDS ARE ALSO SHINGLED. THE BUILDING IS CURRENTLY COVERED WITH ASBESTOS SHINGLES. THE BUILDING WAS ALTERED IN THE LATE 19TH CENTURY. HISTORICAL STATEMENT: MATT PITTMAN ARRIVED IN BOSCOBEL IN 1866, HAVING TRAVELED FROM EAGLE WITH CHARLES MCWILLIAMS. MCWILLIAMS AND PITTMAN PURCHASED A LOCAL DRUG BUSINESS AND IN 1870, PITTMAN OPENED HIS OWN DRUGSTORE ON WISCONSIN AVE (E)(936 WISC AVE. GT 16/9.) BONNIE VIEW IS HISTORICALLY INTERESTING BECAUSE OF ITS ASSOCIATION WITH THIS LOCAL BUSINESSMAN. THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION IS : PT. L2,L3,L4,L5 B1.13 O.P.
