Additional Information:ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: THE KRONSAGE HOUSE STANDS 2 STORIES HIGH, PLUS AN ATTIC. THE FACADE IS AN INTERESTING BALANCE OF FORMS, THE MAIN GABLE HAS RETURNED EAVES, BUT CONTINUING FROM THE NORTH EAVE LINE IS ANOTHER ROOF SLOPE SUPPORTED BY HEAVY COLUMNS. WINDOW SHAPES VARY FROM PLAIN RECTANGLE TO CURVED FORMS. ACCORDING TO THE HERITAGE ALBUM, THIS WAS A COPY A SWISS CHALET. THE DESIGN IS CERTIANLY ECLECTIC. HISTORICAL STATEMENT: THIS RESIDENCE IS HISTORICALLY INTERESTING BECAUSE OF ITS ASSOCIATION WITH THE KRONSHAGE FAMILY. THEODORE KRONSHAGE, SR., WAS A PIONEER BOSCOBEL MERCHANT. HIS SON, THEODORE KRONSHAGE, JR. WAS EDUCATED IN BOSCOBEL, ATTENDED THE UNIVERSTIY OF WISCONSIN IN MADISON, RECEIVED A LAW DEGREE, AND IN 1892 BECAME A PARTNER WITH WARREN D. TARRANT IN MILWAUKEE. DESPITE HIS MOVE FROM BOSCOBEL HE REMAINED ACTIVE IN LOCAL BUSINESS AND BANKING INTERESTS. KRONSHAGE SERVED AS U.W. REGENT (1919-25), WAS A MEMBER OF THE STATE RAILROAD COMMISSION (1931-34) AND AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH IN 1934, CHAIRED THE WISCONSIN PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION. PRESUMABLY THEODORE KRONSAGE, JR. WAS NEVER A FULL TIME RESIDENT OF THIS HOUSE, HOWEVER, ADDITIONAL RESEARCH IS REQUIRED TO VERIFY HIS CONNECTION. ACCORDING TO THE INTENSIVE SURVEY REPORT, THE ADDRESS OF THIS HOUSE IS C. 1308 WISCONSIN AVE. IT WAS BELIVED TO HAVE BEEN BUILT IN THE EARLY 1900'S.
