NOTES
Additional Information:The Jens Larson House is one of four red brick dwellings clustered around the NE corner of Fremont and Maple Streets. Standing two stories high on a coursed stone foundation, it is a rather simple example of the Queen Anne style, with a two-story gable featuring eave returns and two sets of paired windows with segmental arches. A pedimented, hipped-roof porch supported by turned wooden posts covers the entrance on the right side of the west-facing facade. The south wall has a full height bay punctuated by double-hung windows. An incompatible enclosed staircase of unknown date is attached to the southeastern corner. A brick chimney extends from the combination gable and hip roof, which is covered with asphalt shingles.
Bibliographic References:Historic name, date of construction: tax rolls (1899, owned by Mrs. Parsons: $100), (1900, owned by Larson: $500) and (1901, Larson: $900). Larson owned the house through at least 1912.
