NOTES
Additional Information:2020 -

The subject barn forms part of a the Van Zeeland farmstead. It shares a parcel with a ca. 1909 American Foursquare house (AHI Number 43226) located approximately 89 feet to the northeast; a ca. 1945 garage approximately 66 feet to the northeast (AHI Number 242910); a ca. 1965 building that appears to be a garage or storage building approximately 131 feet to the east (AHI Number 242913); and, a ca. 1995 prefabricated metal storage building approximately 121 feet to the northeast. Four silos built between ca. 1955 and ca. 1975 are adjacent to the barn’s northeast and southeast elevations (AHI Numbers 242911 [paired ca. 1955 silos co-located to the northeast of the barn], 242912 [ca. 1955 silo to the south of the barn], and 242914 [ca. 1975 silo to the south of the barn]). Agricultural fields are located along the northern and eastern edge of the parcel occupied by the subject farmstead. The property sits atop a slight hill and is separated from WIS 96 to the west by a tall fence.

The barn appears to be unchanged. Based on aerials, a large one-story addition occupying a long rectangular footprint was constructed on the southeast elevation of the barn sometime between 1970 and 1980. Although the AHI record for the subject barn previously provided a construction date of ca. 1935, research indicates that the property dates from ca. 1955 (sometime between 1951 and 1957 based on aerials).
