NOTES
Additional Information:This two story brick veneered commercial building continues the cornice line brick pattern of its neighbor, 418 Water Street, 1L/7. Six segmental arch bays with brick window hoods mark the second floor. On the lower floor the original storefront area has been significantly altered.

In 1883 two vacant stores are shown on the Sanborn-Perris map. Two years later a saloon and a vacant store area are present. A printing establishment and a vacant store are listed in 1889. In c. 1897 the Olson & Christopherson Grocery is the occupant. The 1908 directory records a saloon operated by Charles McKeen and a paint contractor, Henry Stokes, at this address.
