Additional Information:This two story brick veneered commercial building includes 408 Water Street (1L/4) and 410 Water Street (1L/5). The 408 portion of the building features a metal cornice underscored by a chevron brick pattern, three segmental arch bays accented by brick window hoods, and an altered lower storefront area. Siding covers the east elevation. Entry doors have been changed to a recent style.

The 410 portion of the building is missing the cornice, but retains the chevron pattern and the three segmental arch bays. The storefront on the ground floor has been totall altered.

408 Water Street: A meat market was the original occupant of this building. In 1897 the Kleiner Brothers meat market was listed and a sausage factory was located in the rear. In 1908 the directory listed Rudolph Kleiner, Meats.

410 Water Street: A saloon originally occupied this half of the building. In 1908 the directory recorded that the lower portion of the structure was vacant.

1997-building cornice removed on one storefront.
