Additional Information: | The Adin Randall School, formerly known as the Seventh Ward School, No. 1, is a rectangular two story brick structure that rests on a raised stone basement. Constructed in two stages, the southern half in 1897 and the northern half in 1933, the building is characterized by alternating projecting and recessed wall surfaces that contain bands of windows marked by stone lintels and sills. On the south side of the building, the main entrance is contained within a round arch that is part of a tower-like feature (brick corbelling is used to create the tower effect) which defines the entry area. The windows above the entrance have been partially bricked in. The Seventh Ward School was renamed the Adin Randall School during the school term 1950-51. 1997 - Chamfered stone base. The small attached metal building could be removed. |
