Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation.

Previously surveyed in 1976.

This building stands as the longest surviving and possibly the most significant building in the village. The two-story structure had a shop in the cellar, a store on its first floor, and living quarters above. Obrecht began making a living in the village with his Swiss store, lumber office, and by selling liquor to the rafters. Additions to the building were made over the years, expanding and wrapping around the building. It is now owned by the Haselwander family and features a 1950s bowling alley.

1993- "Presently housing a bowling alley, a bar and an out-of-business sandwich shop, the main block of this complex is a Federal style, brick building. Although the stepped gable ends that identify the structure with the Federal style are clearly evident, the remainder of the building has been engulfed by additions."
