Additional Information: | A two story brick commercial structure distinguished by a metal entablature and rectangular openings highlighted by stone lintels and sills. A large portion of the building's facade (primarily the southern half) has been covered with metal siding. Still somewhat visible is a central entrance area leading to the second story, The window above this entrance is narrow and framed by pilasters. Three larger windows mark the second floor of the northern half of the building. The lower storefront area has been covered with wood siding. A Gents Clothing, Goods and Notions Store and a stores and tinware outlet occupied the first floor of this building in 1883. An IOOF lodge room and residential area were recorded for the second floor. Similar uses were noted for the remainder of the century. In 1908 the Independent 5 and 10 Cent Store was located on the ground level and the IOOF Hall above (B,C). 1997-Half covered with metal screen; other half an altered storefront and windows. 2019: Metal screen has been removed from southern portion, and both storefronts have been remodeled |
