NOTES
Additional Information:TO BE DEMOLISHED. Not on the 1885 Sanborn-Perris Map; on the 1889 map. A two story commercial building featuring simple brickwork patterns at the cornice line (identical patterns are found on the neighboring building, 314 N. barstow Street, 3L/24) and four segmental arch bays capped with molded brick window hoods. The original storefront area, characterized by a recessed entrance and flankin display windows, is largely intact. Of special interest are the iron pillars made by the Phoenix Manufacturing Company (Forest and Wisconsin Streets, 4L/7). In 1889 a barber shop and grocery store were located on the first floor of the building, while a business college occupied the second floor. This business college is not included in the city directories. In 1897 a store and tin shop (on second) were housed in the structure, and by 1908 a hardware store operated by John Oyaas was the occupant (B,C).
