Additional Information: | Previously recorded as WIHP SK/16-19. This two-story frame Gothic Revival house has clapboard siding, a stone foundation and a metal-clad gable roof. There are bargeboards and a finial with pendant in each of the gable ends. The 1/1 wood windows are replacements. The label hood moldings over the door and windows have beenretained. On the front facade there is a gabled wall dormer with a peaked-arch window and bargeboards. The house may have had a front porch originally. There is a polygonal bay window with brackets and dentils centered on the gable end facing the roadway. The house was built between 1861 and 1877, perhaps for J. O. Ashley. |
