It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. PART 1 WAS DENIED. "Now almost totally altered, this building originally looked much like the Heydecke and Jones Buildings. With brick walls founded on a cut-stone foundation, the first floor contained two retail store spaces while the second story contained a large hall used by various fraternal organizations. The northern portion of the first floor was occupied by the post office until a major remodeling in 1958. The southern portion has been used as a bank since 1881. Since its organization in 1891, the Peoples State Bank has continuously operated in this building. Daniel W. Bronson, the original owner, was born in New York State and brought his family to Mazomanie in 1855. One of Mazomanie's earliest setllers, he operated a general store, served as postmaster from 1861 to 1877, and later operated a lumberyard."
