Additional Information: | This structure contributes to the significance of the East College Avenue Residential Historic District under Criterion C as a good example of a World War I era Arts and Crafts house. This house, which retains a high degree of design integrity, illustrates the trend away from the formal symmetrical Tudor mansions of the turn-of-the-century, to the more rambling, picturesque, informal English Cottage style houses of the Arts and Crafts style which would culminate in the 1920s in the popularization of the Cotswold Tudor style. One-story, shed-roofed, wood, historic screen porch extends across full width of house at rear overlooking Fox River. Garage also on property. Additional map codes are: 9/27. |
