Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Related building: OU 74/9. This structure contributes to the significance of the East College Avenue Residential Historic District as a mansion-scale Prairie style house. This rare example of a Prairie style house in the study area illustrates a conservative approach to adapting the characteristics of the Prairie style including Prairie window sash, and extraordinarily wide overhanging eaves to a large scale house by an architect who may not really have been very comfortable working in the style. The replacement of the original front porch with the present Regency Revival style one is an alteration to the original design. 2005-This house was last surveyed in 1992 and no visible exterior changes have been made to the home since that time. |
