Additional Information: | This property is locally significant under Criterion C as a well-preserved example of a plain Colonial Revival house with some interesting features. The compact rectangular shape, simple wood-siding and sparse details such as latticed window sash, were intended to recall the straightforward homes of our Colonial ancestors. The late Victorian lifestyle of its occupants, however, mandated the massive veranda with its hip-roofed paviliobnm which was done-up with modillion brackets at the eaves, ramped railings and Ionic columns to give it a vaguely "colonial" appearance. This is notable as one of the more original of the study area's Colonial Revival houses. Attached garage. |
