Additional Information: | Garage also on property. Additional map codes are: 7/24. This structure contributes to the significance of the Appleton City Park Historic District as a rare surviving example of a gabled-ell village house that has been little altered. This plain vernacular house with its late Greek revival influenced design illustrates the middleclass architecture of Appleton's pioneer period in the 1850s and 1860s. The house is nearly original except for the addition of the present front porch in the early 1900s. This is an important remnant of the City Park neighborhood's first period of development. |
