Additional Information: | This structure contributes to the significance of the East College Avenue Residential Historic District under Criterion C as an example of an 1860's or 1870's vernacular village house. This plain little house typifies the functional architecture that comprised the background buildings in the housing stock of many WI commmunities in the mid-nineteenth century. Like this one, with its little bracketed bay window, many of these houses were later dressed-up with architectural details borrowed from subsequent architectural trends. |
