Additional Information: | This structure contributes to the significance of the East College Avenue Residential Historic District under Criterion C as an example of a World War I era Colonial Revival house. Although the Ionic portico and door with sidelights made this house nominally "colonial" when it was built, the numerous banks of grouped windows and general proportions betray the infleunce of the craftsman movement which was also popular at the time. The house has a fine craftsman style garage in nearly original condition. Owned by Lawrence University. |
