Additional Information: | Garage also on property. This structure contributes to the significance of the East College Avenue Residential Historic District under Criterion C as a fine example of a shingled Colonial revival middleclass family house of the 1920's. This modest house illustrates the 1920's trend away from copying the great colonial mansions of New England in favor of adapting motifs from the modest rural cottages and farmhouses of coastal New England which were considered to be better models for less expensive informal suburban houses such as this one. |
