Additional Information: | This structure contributes to the significance of the East College Avenue Residential Historic District under Criterion C as a fine example of a Tudor Revival middle class house of the 1920's, illustrating the architectural variety possible within the picturesque Tudor style. This house, like the many other Tudor houses in the neighborhood, illustrates both the continued desirability of East College Avenue as a residential area for the well-to-do and the great popularity of thr Tudor Revival style in Appleton in the 1920's. This house was previously surveyed in 1991 and no visible changes have occurred to the exterior since that time. Assessor's records indicate a 1930 date of construction. 1928 city directory notes a George and Mildred Potter at 926 E College; in 1932 and 1934, the occupant is identified as Annette I. Buchanan. |
