NOTES
Additional Information:This structure contributes to the significance of the East College Avenue Historic District under Criterion C as an interesting example of an older house remodelled in the fashionable colonial revival style. Additional map codes are: 9/11. Garage also on property. Supposedly housed the first telephone in Wisconsin.

2005-This house was previously surveyed in 1991 and no visible changes have occurred to the exterior since that date.

A circa 1880 date of construction has been ascribed to the home (?based on assessor's records); Alfred Galpin, Cashier at the Manufacturer's National Bank is noted as the original owner of the home per a 1978 city survey. A 1884-85 directory confirms Galpins ownership at the time; the house appears on the 1886 Sanborn map. The Galpin family remained in the home until at least 1936.
