Additional Information: | This structure contributes to the significance of the East College Avenue Residential Historic District under Criterion C as an example of a frame 1880 vernacular village house that was subsequently enlarged and remodelled at various times to bring it up to date to reflect the standard of its elegant College Avenue neighborhood. Garage also on property. 2005-This residence was last surveyed in 1991 and no visible exterior changes have occurred since that time. Assessor's records offer an 1881 date of construction; the house does appear on an 1886 Sanborn map. According to city directories, the earliest known owner was Dr. George A. Ritchie (1896-97). |
