NOTES
Additional Information:This chapel is of modified Romanesque Revival style with a gambrel roof over the main body and a steep gable off the main section. The bell tower has a flared pyramidal roof with pointed gablets. Upper level gable walls include a circular stained glass window with four keystones and two sets of three narrow arched windows, with a small round window including four keystones centered above. Entry includes an arched porch within the gable roof section with a hood mold with corbel stop around the arches.

A non-denominational chapel built in honor of Elijah Gridley Strong. Ground was broken for the chapel on April 21, 1899, and the building was erected at a cost of $3,500. The new church was dedicated on August 27, 1899. The congregation decided in 1909 to become part of the Congregational denomination and was reorganized as Gridley Congregational Church. In 1913, the church was enlarged at a cost of $2,500, with a kitchen and dining hall in basement.
