Highly intact facade whose original cast iron storefront elements are still largely intact and bear the name "Lodi Manufacturing Co." in raised letters at the base of the columns. This company was a local foundry established at the same time as this building. The building was built for J. Frank Collins in 1883 and a date stone at the base of the main facade bears this date. The design and carpenter work was done by E. M. Hackett, then of Reedsburg, WI, who later moved to Lodi (LVN: 10/20/1883, p. 3). |
