Additional Information: | The evidence of landscape and park design in the history of Myrick Park was found. Further investigation is needed. The original 20 acre site was called Lake Park. It served as a fairground and trotting park after 1873. The city established control of the property, but not title in 1887. In 1904, the park became known as Oak Grove. During the WPA era of the 1930s, the park was enlarged. Related building: Park Shelter (95-7). Landscape designer: P. E. Stevens |
