| Additional Information: | Gable roofed two-story house with cornice returns and half-circle window in gable end, six over clear plate glass windows, and gabled projecting entrance with compound round arch doorway. 2015- "These three [2520, 2526 and 2532 Edgewood Pl.] two-story brick Colonial Revival residences share a similar style, location and construction date. The defining elements of the Colonial Revival Style are a rectangular, side-gabled mass, central entry, symmetrically placed multi-pane double-hung windows and neo-Classical doorway ornamentation. These residences are three bays wide with a brick exterior, single flanking chimney and decorative shutters. The Orton House [2526] has an off-set entry instead of the typical central entry. All three residences have ornamented door surrounds, providing differentiation in their otherwise similar facades. The Osweiler House has a broken pediment over the entry wuith a wooden sunburst typmanum over the door. The Orton House has a door surround with a horizontal projecting cornice supported by fluted pilasters. The McKenna House has projecting brick entry with recessed arches topped by a simple pediment. The Colonial Revival style became popular in America after the Chicago Columbian Exposition of 1893, where Greek and Roman were the dominant architecutral motifs.
