Additional Information: | SCULPTURED BRACKETS W/PENDANTS IN GABLE. ROUND ARCHED WINDOW. This Gothic Revival style house, the only example in Columbus, was built in the late 1850s or very early 1860s by Dr. George Paine, who rented it out to Mr. Ireton, a clerk in a Columbus dry goods store in which Paine had an interest, and with whom Paine, who was a dentist, boarded. Subsequently, the house was purchased by local merchant Gilbert T. Dodge. |
