Additional Information: | Norman Leyse was a co-founder, with his brother Albert, of the Leyse Aluminum Company which started in 1903 in Two Rivers and moved to Kewaunee in 1905. The company at first manufactured aluminum signs and related products. It covertd to the manufacture of aluminum cookware during World War II and built a new plant in Kewaunee. In 1938 Leyse Aluminum had 90 workers and by 1983, when it merged with General Housewares Corp., it had more than 230 workers. By the 1990s it was owend by the Vollrath Corporation. |
