NOTES
Additional Information:Brackets under the eaves of house, porch and bay window; five sided bay window on front and east sides; elaborate ell porch with balustrade and heavy decorate freize supported by carved posts placed on wooden bases; 4/4 windows, projecting triangular shaped window surrounds; rear addition, added exterior stairway. In this vernacular gabled ell house type, the bay windows associated with the Queen Anne style was combined with the most elaborate carved and cut-out Victorian porch remaining in the City of Chhippewa Falls. Brackets under the eaves and decorative window enframement create the picturesque aura of the East and Queen Anne influenced period. This vernacular gabled ell house type evolving from a small house built by Emory Stanley c. 1883 is one of several excellent examples of the Queen Anne influenced vernacular houses in Chippewa Falls. Representatives of the workingman's house, this "dressed up" common house type is an important element in the architectural history of Chippewa Falls.
