Associated Individuals: Widow Anna Heinemann. (1907-1919c.) Historic Names: George Heinemann Residence ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: The G.H. Heinemann House is a superb example of Victorian residences. Designed by leading Milwaukee architect H.C. Koch, it is an extremely fine interpretation of the Queen Anne style. Many structures are literally dumped into this category only because they possess some fo the various elements. In this case the requisite elements have been correctly interpreted and the form has been harmonized accordingly to result in a complete and total definitive product. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: George H. Hi\einemann was a wholesale dealer in hats, caps, furs, straw goods, buffalo goods, etc. This business was established in 1865 by Booth and Salsmann and succeeded in 1867 by Booth and Heinemann. In 1879, Booth retired and it became Heinemann and Co. |
