A good example of the Queen Anne styled house typically built in the 1880's in Chippewa Falls, the historically significant Alex McLaren House is an important but not architecturally significant example of the style.

This residence was built in 1885 for Alexander and Christina McLaren. The McLaren children sold the property to Ole and Gertrude Larson in 1929. Gertrude Larson sold the property in 1945 to Leo Harris.
