It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Erick (1863-1942) was a farmer in the area and later became a mechanic. Both he and his wife had Norwegian parents but were Wisconsin natives. As of 1910, the Lewis House included their three children and Joseph Hollenbeck, a boarder. Olaf and Lena Skaalen purchased the house in the 1920s. He was the police chief and they converted the building into a duplex. From the 1940s through the late 1950s the building housed the "Little Bit O'Norway" restaurant. |
