Additional Information:SINCE THIS HOUSE WAS FIRST SURVEYED IN 1978 A LATER COLONIAL REVIVAL STYLE FRONT ENTRANCE VESTIBULE HAS BEEN REMOVED AND A NEW FRONT PORCH THAT IS AN EXCELLENT IMITATION OF AN HISTORICALLY APPROPRIATE ONE HAS BEEN BUILT C. 1988 IN ITS PLACE. SANBORN MAPS SHOW THAT THIS HOUSE EXISTED IN ITS CURRENT FORM IN 1884. The rear porch was added c. 1925. Ellenwood lived from 1838-1899. Later owners included Benjamin S. Ellenwood (1866-1929), Robert R. Zimmer (1884-1949), Arthur A. Phelps, and Elizabeth Browan.
